The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school.Working arrangements / PositionWorking hours and days One afternoon per week for training and attendance at games which will likely be on weekends (during season competition)DUTIESThe role of a Co-curricular Sports Coach is to instruct students on fundamental skills and foster player development within a fun, inclusive and safe environment.Be responsible for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of training sessions suited to the needs of the individual students and/or teamsBe able to provide a copy of a session plan to the Head CoachArrive 15 minutes prior to training to ensure areas are ready for training and 30 minutes prior to gamesEnsure training areas and equipment are packed away at the end of each sessionMark the roll at each session and ensure accurate records of student attendance are kept.Follow school procedures for supervising children before and after training and gamesDiscuss any behavioural management issues with the Head Coach and Head of Co-curricularComplete an Incident Report in as soon as possible and inform the Head of Co-curricularCommunication – In collaboration with the team manager update the team portal pageOther duties as requiredSELECTION CRITERIAA passion for leading and supporting sportExperience as a player or coach in the chosen sportExcellent written and oral communication skills with both adults and studentsA relevant qualification or coaching certificate in the sport would be advantageousFirst Aid certificateWorking with Vulnerable People registrationThe applicationTerms and ConditionsThe successful applicant will be employed under the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2010.The ApplicationApplicants should provide the following documentsCovering letter, addressing the criteria listed above and outlining how you would approach the position (no more than 3 pages in length)Curriculum vitae (no more than 4 pages)A copy of your academic transcript/qualifications (if applicable)Working with Vulnerable People registrationDetails of three professional referees    AUD Gungahlin 2912
