It is a co-educational Independent, Anglican School, that offers a tailored learning environment for children from six months through to Year 12, across two campuses. Burgmann is structured into four sub schools: Early Learning, Junior School (K-Y5), Middle School (Yr 6 – 8) and Senior School (Year 9-12).The Early Learning Centre, located on the Valley campus, provides for children aged 6 months to 3 years old. We have two Pre-Kindergarten programs, one located on each campus. These provide for children who are 4 years old, in their year before formal schooling.The school prides itself on its innovative and creative approach to curriculum and education and its strong sense of community and pastoral care of the students and their families and the staff of the school. The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school. The Early Learning programs are an important aspect of our school.Line Management: This position will report to the Director of Early Learning and ultimately the Principal. The appointee will be based across the Early Learning programs at both the Valley and Forde campuses.SCOPE OF ROLEThe focus of the Early Learning Assistant Director (Care and Compliance) role is to lead and guide compliance across all Early Learning programs (the Early Learning Centre and Pre-Kindergarten) across the Valley and Forde campuses in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Burgmann Anglican School Early Learning policies and procedures and other relevant regulatory and/or funding bodies.The Early Learning Assistant Director (Care and Compliance) position:Includes a 0.6 FTE teaching load across the Early Learning Centre and Pre-Kindergarten at both the Valley and Forde campuses, supporting compliance and transitions through a shared approach to achieving the best learning outcomes for children.Assists the Director of Early Learning to provide strong leadership across the Early Learning programs (Early Learning Centre and Pre-Kindergarten).Develops innovative approaches to record keeping and compliance management.Provides ongoing support and assistance in all areas of daily operational requirements.Develops positive partnerships and relationships which support families and the Burgmann Anglican School community.Works collaboratively with the Early Learning Assistant Director (Education and Practice).DutiesActively lead policy and procedure development and review across Early Learning programs.Build trusting professional relationships with teachers and educators, promoting a culture of collaboration and reflective practice.Actively engage with the Children’s Education and Care Authority in matters relating to compliance and service operations.Support families and children through the enrolment and orientation process.Provide leadership while working as a member of a cooperative team, encouraging all staff to actively contribute to compliance matters and processes.Other duties as directed by the Director of Early Learning and/or Head of Junior School from time to time.Operate in a professional manner at all times.Selection CriteriaHigh level knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 with a demonstrated commitment to the implementation of these processes.
