The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school.TermsA Leadership Allowance (Level 1) and 0.2 release will be paid, commensurate with the responsibility of the position.LINE MANAGEMENTResponsible to the Deputy Head of Middle School (Culture and Wellbeing), Head of Middle School and ultimately the Principal.LEADER OF CULTURE AND WELLBEING (0.2 RELEASE)Lead the development of culture and student care across a year levelAct as the first line of referral in student wellbeing matters, working closely with the wellbeing teamFoster a culture of care and support students within the year to understand and embrace the School’s valuesUnderstand, apply and share relevant research in the area of Positive Education to meet the needs of young adolescentsEngage with the Whole School Wellbeing progressions and assist teachers in the implementation of the School’s Behaviour Guidance approachesUse data to inform and improve wellbeing practices across the year levelEffectively communicate with parents within the year level regarding wellbeing issues and support colleagues in their communication with parentsLead staff engagement with the student pastoral care tab, ensuring student records are up-to-dateBe a member of the Student Care Team and collaborate on student care plansOversee and co-ordinate the transition of students into and out of the year levelActively communicate with parents about the activities being undertaken in the year level through the Portal and through attendance at Middle School eventsOversee the Camp/Outdoor Education program for their year levelAssist teachers in the organisation of excursions/year level events/house eventsSELECTION CRITERIAAbility to lead staff within a small teamAbility to initiate, promote and manage change in consultation with the school leadership teamStrong communication skills and demonstrated experience in using these skills to bring about best outcomes for studentsKnowledge of, and interest in, Positive Education and other wellbeing approaches such as trauma informed practiceSALARY, TERMS AND CONDITIONSThe successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools ACT Standards Model (Teachers) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2021.
